Everyone wants one thing in the country: Vice President Venkaiah Naidu
Vijayawada: Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu has said that we should set aside the tendency to underestimate ourselves and safeguard the dignity and sovereignty of the country as a whole. The people of the country need to realize that the anti-national propaganda they are carrying out is worrying.
The Vice President unveiled the Telugu translation of the book 'The Case for India' written by American traveler Will Durant in Vijayawada on Wednesday.
"Peace and non-violence are in the blood of Indians, except to resist the onslaught on us," said Venkaiah Naidu. He said that so far there has been no instance of our country invading abroad with the aim of expanding and increasing its borders. India has been striving for world peace from the very beginning.
He visited ten or twelve cities in different parts of the country and was amazed at the way the British treated the Indians. He said that the rich history of India needs to be rewritten not from the perspective of lies and half-truths created by Westerners, but from the perspective of a true Indian perspective.
Former President of Telugu Language Association Mandali Buddha Prasad, President of Siddhartha Academy Dr. Chadalwada Nageswara Rao, Swarnabharat Trust Secretary Chukkapally Prasad, Alaknanda Publisher Dee Ashok Kumar, Author Mrs. Nadella Anuradha and others were present on the occasion.

అమెరికా యాత్రికుడు విల్ దురంత్ రాసిన 'ద కేస్ ఫర్ ఇండియా' పుస్తకం తెలుగు అనువాదం 'భారతదేశం పక్షాన' పుస్తకాన్ని బుధవారం విజయవాడలో ఉపరాష్ట్రపతి ఆవిష్కరించి మాట్లాడారు.
శాంతి, అహింసలు భారతీయుల రక్తంలోనే ఉన్నాయని, మనపై జరిగిన దండయాత్రలను ప్రతిఘటించడమే తప్ప.. బలప్రదర్శన కోసం ఇతరులను కవ్వించే వ్యక్తిత్వం భారతీయులది కాదని వెంకయ్యనాయుడు చెప్పారు. మన దేశం ఇప్పటి వరకు ఏనాడూ విస్తరణ కాంక్షతో, సరిహద్దులను పెంచుకోవాలనే లక్ష్యంతో విదేశాలపై దండయాత్రలు చేసిన సందర్భం ఒక్కటి కూడా లేదన్నారు. భారతదేశం మొదటి నుంచి విశ్వశాంతి కోసం ప్రయత్నిస్తున్నది.
దేశంలోని నలు దిక్కులా పది, పన్నెండు నగరాలను సందర్శించిన విల్ దురంత్.. భారతీయుల పట్ల ఆంగ్లేయులు వ్యవహరించిన తీరును చూసి విస్మయం చెందారన్నారు. భారతదేశ ఘనమైన చరిత్రను పాశ్చాత్యులు సృష్టించిన అసత్యాలు, అర్ధసత్యాలు దృష్టికోణంలో కాకుండా, నిజమైన భారతీయ దృష్టి కోణంలో తిరిగి లిఖించాల్సిన అవసరం ఉన్నదని చెప్పారు.
